The real cost of comparison 😬

May 07, 20262 min read

It’s not just about feeling a bit rubbish, or not as good

It costs you money… BIG money

I was catching up with an Incubator Bootcamp client last night, well my night, their early morning back home 😆

They are brilliant, with a great set up & offer, but he was stuck in this loop

Constantly scrolling, seeing what other coaches were doing, how they were marketing themselves

Then playing that familiar loop in his head…

🤔 They have a bigger team

🤔 Their website looks so much more professional

🤔 can’t charge that much, no one will pay me when they could go to X, Y, or Z

Sound familiar

This is imposter syndrome 👊

& this constant comparison was literally stopping him from growing

Because he thought he couldn’t offer the same…

He is undercharging, underselling, and underperforming with the set-up they have

It as almost like he was running a charity, not a business, because he couldn’t see his own worth

Trust me… I’ve been here too

I’ve been there, feeling like I had no right to be in the room, a kid from a council house in North Wales

But I learned & most of all, I love proving people wrong

I told him… 🗣️ You could be super qualified, but if no one knows who you are, you are going to struggle

And if you don’t even believe in who you are, how can anyone else

So the target was simple… get out of your own way & share with the world your METHOD 👊

1️⃣ Hide those other business that your comparing yourself too

2️⃣ Listen to positive business podcast & YouTube channels

Then…

Start fine tuning your target audience & offer

By removing distractions, things that pull you down or take you off course

Clears your mind to focus on the big tasks that will really move the needle 👊
